Mr. Cyrluk is a member of Stetler & Duffy,
Ltd. He represents a wide variety of clients in business
litigation and white-collar criminal defense.
His civil practice has included
representing individual and corporate clients in a wide variety
of disputes, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary
duty, fraud, fraudulent transfers, franchise law, labor and
employment disputes, insurance coverage, class action consumer
cases, securities cases, bankruptcy and receivership
proceedings. He has represented plaintiffs, defendants and
court appointed receivers in State and Federal trial and
appellate proceedings. Notably, Mr. Cyrluk successfully
represented a group of former franchisees in a six-month jury
trial in Orange County, California. The case settled after a
multi-million dollar judgment was entered in favor of his
clients. Recently, Mr. Cyrluk successfully represented
Smurfit-Stone Container Enterprises, Inc. in a jury trial of a
breach of contract action in the Circuit Court of Cook County,
Illinois.
Mr. Cyrluk’s criminal defense practice has
included representing clients at trial, in grand jury
proceedings, and in connection with investigations conducted by
the United States Department of Justice and state authorities,
including cases involving bank fraud, mail fraud, perjury, RICO
and environmental crimes. He has counseled a wide variety of
clients regarding compliance with the law and has conducted
numerous internal investigations.
Mr. Cyrluk is admitted to practice law in
the Supreme Court of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of
Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States
District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the
United States District Court for the Western District of
Wisconsin. He also has represented clients pro hac vice
before federal and state trial courts in California, Florida,
Indiana and Louisiana. He has briefed and/or argued appeals in
cases before the Illinois Appellate Court and the United States
Courts of Appeal for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, including
Boll v. Stamatakis Industries, Inc., Nostalgia
Network, Inc. v. Lockwood (argued), FDIC v. Wabick, et
al. (argued); United States v. Snook (argued), and
People v. Travnick (argued).
Stetler & Duffy, Ltd. was formed in March
1998. Mr. Cyrluk is one of S&D’s five original attorneys.
Prior to S&D, Mr. Cyrluk was associated with McDermott, Will &
Emery and Novack and Macey.
Mr. Cyrluk graduated magna cum laude
from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1992. He was
a member of the Law Review and served as its Topics Editor. He
received his bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in
1989.
